Finisterre - the end of the world!

Finisterre – the end of the world!

The relics of St James (Santiago) were first brought to Finisterre by his followers almost two thousand years ago.  This site, formerly known as ‘the end of the earth’, is better known today as the place where pilgrims burn their well-worn boots and dirty clothes, exchanging them for fresh garb.

Selected Travel Enriched tours include 2-3 days walking on the Camino Finisterre following delightful forest and farm tracks beside the Atlantic coast. As well as visiting the lighthouse, a special highlight is a one day walk between Finisterre and Muxia.

Those who want to walk the entire return trip between Santiago and Finisterre, with extra time to relax along The Way, should allow a week to do so.  If you are interested in this option we can help you by booking luggage transfers and accommodation.  If you would prefer to be accompanied by a guide along this route contact us to discuss options for a ‘bespoke’ tour.
