Walking the Camino: Our 2013 ‘Camino with a Difference!’ Journey Begins

During the past week, co-tour guide Christine Gawne and I visited all the places included in our 2013 ‘Camino with a Difference’ tour itinerary. Travelling by trusty Fiat rather than on foot enabled us to cover a great deal of territory to fine tune the tour logistics. Galicia is a diverse and picturesque region.  Here are a few photos to whet your appetite!

Oporto

Tomorrow participants for Tour C meet in Oporto.  We will visit this UNESCO World Heritage listed city on foot, take a boat ride along the Rio Duoro and dine in a Portuguese restaurant overlooking the river with its magnificent medieval backdrop.

Over the next two weeks we will visit many small towns and villages in the charming countryside of northern Portugal and Spain en route to Santiago.

After exploring this historic city we will travel out to the very scenic Finisterre peninsula (formerly thought to be the end of the earth) where we will observe a different way of life and experience the warm hospitality of the people of Galicia. If you would like to see some snippets of our journey, you can ‘follow’ us on this web page.
