Travel with us by bus along the Camino Mozarabe AND the Camino Portugues!
Pilgrims who commence their Camino journey in the province of Andalucia in southern of Spain may walk over 1,000kms before they reach Santiago de Compostela! But we know that not everyone who wants a Camino experience is interested in long distance walking. So in recent years we have conducted bus tours commencing in Granada, then following the Camino Mozarabe, then travelling northward beside the Rua de la Plata.
In April-May 2019 we offer a different itinerary that combines a one week visit to the most significant historic sites in southern Spain, then traveling westward to spend a further 2 weeks in Portugal. This 22 day bus tour includes extended time in the medieval jewelled cities of Granada and Seville and visiting the important places of interest in Cordoba, once the seat of the Islamic Caliphate. In Portugal we visit Roman ruins and enjoy the atmospheric Arab influenced architecture of small coastal towns.
Our onward journey takes us to Tomar with its links to the Knights Templar; the world heritage listed city of Oporto with the neighbouring wine growing region of the Douro Valley; and the attractive small city of Coimbra, home to one of Europe’s oldest universities. Our tour finishes in Lisbon said to be one of the most vibrant cities in Western Europe.
Previous tours along the Camino Mozarbe have also included travel along the Rua del la Plata. To see photos of our June 2017 tour visit our Travel blog: And now for something different!
