Three new Camino with a Difference! tour itineraries have now been posted. Two tours are scheduled for May 2016 and one in September. All three tours are fully guided, and include accommodation in comfortable 2-3 star hotels and guesthouses, luggage transfer and land transfers. Participants also have the opportunity to visit the Finisterre Peninsula.
Two tours follow our signature pathway along the Camino Portugues, commencing in Oporto. The third tour starts in Bilbao, home to the famous Guggenheim contemporary art museum. This 14-day tour travels beside the Bay of Biscay along the Camino del Norte. Participants can choose between some attractive options. They can join the entire coastal tour, the final day of which joins other pilgrims on the last stretch of the Camino Frances into Santiago de Compostela. Alternatively they can leave the group after the first week and walk independently along the Camino Primitivo to Oviedo or further to Santiago.
A recent comparison between tours offered by Travel Enriched and those conducted by other providers shows that Camino with a Difference! Tours have maximum variety and flexibility and are excellent value for money! Since beginning Travel Enriched several years ago the number of companies that run Camino tours has spiralled! The vast majority of these provide only offer self-guided options along the heavily trafficked Camino Frances. Luggage transfers are generally included but the standard of accommodation varies considerably.
Today a small number of companies conduct guided Camino tours. Again these mostly follow the Camino Frances and daily prices are markedly higher than Travel Enriched tours. None of these tours offer the chance to combine journal writing with walking. When choosing a tour provider take care not to compare ‘apples’ with ‘oranges’. Most importantly check the fine detail about what is included and review the testimonials written by former participants. Follow this link to view the new Camino with a Difference! itineraries.
